Now everyone can enjoy Kiehl's

on Monday, October 22, 2012
As all you beauty conscious people know, Kiehl's opened its first store in Africa in September. Johannesburg was lucky enough to sample their superior products first. We fell in love with them. The rest of the country was green with jealousy and rightly so. Until today!

Khiel's has joined forces with Edcon and now your favourite products are only a phone call away. The products can be ordered through the Edgars Fashion Hotline on 086 069 2274 no matter where you are in South Africa.

By ordering it this way, you have the choice of getting your products delivered to your home or to your nearest Edgars store.

If you are unsure of their products or pricing, I advice that you call the Sandton Khiel's store 011 685 7000 or the Kiehl's Customer Advisory on 0861 001 085 prior to calling the Edgars Fashion Hotline.

I am super excited for this pairing and am sure it'll be a successful one.

Mascara ♥

on Sunday, October 21, 2012
People who know me well, know that I am a mascara addict. There are always new formula's coming out to make your eyelashes look all kinds of fabulous. It is incredible what a properly applied coat of mascara can do for the face. When you find one that works for you, stick with it. It is kind of like finding the right partner, in that regard.

I was using the same brand for years and my lashes were very happy with the coupling. Until a couple of months ago. I am still uncertain as to why, but all of a sudden, my trusty mascara was breaking up with me. By the end of the day, it looked like I was clubbing the night away by the looks of my raccoon eyes. Sigh. It just was not doing its job any more. I went about my beauty routine the same way as usual, therefore I had to accept that we simply outgrew each other.

After the sad realisation that I needed to find a new magic wand, I went shopping. And I found it! Dare I say my new favourite is even better than the old one. I discovered Chanel's Inimitable Intense in noir. It makes my lashes appear longer, thicker and more curled whilst separating each and every one. So far it has not clumped, spiked or flaked. I am a happy girl at the moment and am looking forward to a long relationship with Ms Noir. It is available in a few colours: rouge noir, brun and purple.

Ladies, give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Garnier's Miracle Skin Perfector - BB cream ♥....

on Sunday, October 7, 2012
I read about BBs (Beauty Balms) a while ago. It piqued my interest immediately and seems like the next big thing in skin care.

Boy was I right! Since I have super sensitive skin, I decided to try Garnier's BB cream. I've been using it for a week now, and am absolutely in love with it.

Not only does it give better coverage than traditional foundation (for a fraction of the price, I may add), it does what it promises to do. It keeps my skin hydrated all day long and blurs imperfections. Thanks to the vitamin C, it brightens my skin tone and makes it appear more even. My skin is also protected from the harmful effects of the sun as it contains a built in sunscreen.

It is easy to apply and cuts my morning routine down a bit and every woman will agree that we can use some extra sleep time in the mornings. I am an instant fan and trading in my foundation for this cream.

Try it yourself and let me know what you think.

The Trunk Show.....

I was fortunate to crack an invite to the Marie Claire and Kiehl's Trunk show last week Wednesday. I was looking forward to seeing all the great clothes, accessories, shoes and designers. The venue was Turbine Hall in down town Johannesburg and the industrial feel was absolutely perfect.

The goods on show were gorgeous and being a shoe girl, the Sam Star merchandise caught my eye more than once. I truly love shoes. An interesting accessories stand selling pre 1950s jewellery was intriguing.  Every piece made we wonder about its original owner and the parties she attended, it was a bit of a Gatsby moment for me. If only the jewellery could talk, I'm sure it would be fascinating.
One of my favourite parts of the evening was the Boss stand. The design students manning the stand, were there to chat to the women about their body types and which little black dress is their best friend. I had a long discussion with the well dressed gentleman who assisted me. I found out that I have an inverted triangle body type, which means my shoulders are a bit broader than my hips and that the new Peplum dresses which are in fashion, will look great on me. Anything with detail on my waist and hips is a winner. At the end of the consultation, they sketch the dress for you and sign it. It's like having an original Boss design just for you.

The Kiehl's team were out in full force too along with Mr Bones, their mascot. Several designers specially designed lab coats for the occasion as well as earrings. I am a huge fan of the products and their helpful, friendly staff.
All in all, a good night out.
