I was catching up on my glossy mag reading yesterday and a realisation dawned on me. Kitten heels are back in fashion. I don't really know how I feel about this. I have never been a fan. I mean, if you're going to wear heels, commit. Wear a proper heel, not something between a flat and a heel. I don't know, maybe it's just me. I know that my really tall friends wear them and they look great, it gives them that feeling of being able to strut their stuff and not feel like giraffes. Although, if I were tall, I'd wear the highest heels possible and own my Glamazon status.
13 Fashion Trends That Lasted Way Longer Than They Should Have
I came across this article via Huffington Post today and thought that I'd share it with you as well as give my own cometary in pink.
13 Fashion Trends That Lasted Way Longer Than They Should Have
Despite the fact that they're inherently short-lived, some fashion trends manage to hang on, lingering in our closets for much longer than they should.Below, a list of trends that are still going strong... even though, in our humble opinion, their moment was over about five minutes ago. Have you ditched these yet?
Boyfriend Jeans - I love these personally, purely because you can wear it any way you like. You can dress it up or have a more casual look. I think they're still a winner.
Wedge Sneakers - I have to admit, I've never been a fan of these and never will be. Maybe because I'm not the tallest girl and these cut my legs at a very awkward place and doesn't flatter my legs at all. I'll pass on these.
Huge Sunglasses - I adore HUGE sunglasses. I think every woman should have a pair or five.
Circle Scarves - I've always hated these and never saw the point to them, ever. Can't people learn how to wear normal scarves? What's up with the circle scarf?
Peplums - They were great for the first two seasons they came out. Then I got really tired of them, really quickly. This trend should have died four seasons ago already. Every time I see a girl in a peplum anything, I vom in my mouth a little bit. That's just my personal opinion.
Fedoras - I think they're cute and add whimsy. I like them :)
High-Waisted Cutoffs - Never been a fan of these, because I think your trousers should be longer than the pockets. It looks great on 0.02% of women who are skinny, glamorous and self-confident enough to pull these off. "Normal" women look horrid in these.
Oversized Bags - Say what you want about the oversized bag, it is useful. Women need a lot of things at hand and they're perfect. I think they're a winner, can't have too many.
Mocassin Boots - again, probably because I'm not the tallest woman, these make me look stumpy and I don't like them.
Double Denim - Double denim wasn't pretty in the 80s and you need a ridiculous amount of self-confidence to pull this one off without looking like you're stuck in 1982.
Turban Headbands - only "free-spirited" women can pull this one off and look amazing. If you have the look and the hair, go for it. I'm quite jealous, to be honest.
Maxi Dresses - these hide a multitude of sins and they look good. Love these.
Floppy Beanies - Again, if you're Hipster enough to pull it off, more power to you.
