Fall in love this Spring with Emma Watson and Lancôme

on Sunday, September 8, 2013
Emma Watson teamed up with Lancôme to create her first make up range and it has a definite Spring feel to it. I was spoilt by L'Oreal who sent me some of this new range to try out. Did you know that Emma was born in Paris? Nor did I. Being born in the city of love gives an even more romantic feel to the range. It is called 'In Love' and the colours are as soft, wispy and feminine as a warm Spring day. It reminds me of Spring days spent in my friends' gardens with cocktails and snacks in London, celebrating the arrival of long days and short nights. The light shades are a welcome break from the sombre and heavy colours of Winter. She attributes her inspiration to the "awakening of love in the Spring time". The range has me under its spell.

Here are my thoughts on the goodies that I received.
Ombre in Love (eye shadow)
"Sugar Rose" is the name of the game and it's a gorgeous, yet subtle shade of pink. It looks great once applied and stays put all day. I love this as my eye shadow tends to wear off as I go about my business. It's got my vote for durability! The packaging also gets a two thumbs up from me as it is stylish and I wouldn't mind whipping it out in public whilst doing a quick touch up. It comes in six shades, three shades of pastel for fairer skins - light pink, mauve and almond green, and three shades of hues for darker skins - rose petal, deep purple and leafy green.

Blush in Love (Blush)
This has the same gorgeous packaging as the eye shadow. Women love pretty things and Lancôme wins this battle. To add to this they have included a mirror which, wait for it, slides out of the case! How brilliant is that? It's available in two shades - Peche Joue-Joue and Pommetes d'Amour. It gives your cheeks that Spring time glow that you can only get from spending lovely long afternoons outdoors with your friends.

My fave: Baume in Love (lipstick)
I am a sucker for lipsticks, lip balms, glosses, well anything to do with lip products really. I was given the pink shade and was a bit disappointed initially. That was before I tried it. As I uncapped the lipstick I was a bit overwhelmed by the intensity of the shade. I would never wear "hot pink" lipstick but after trying it, I am an absolute fan. The lipsticks are all translucent shades (I was unaware of this at the time) and is described as "awakening lips' natural colour for a bitten-lip effect". I love it! Because it's a translucent lipstick, the intensity of the colour doesn't transfer onto your lips, instead a luscious shade develops and gives a bit of a sheen too. Again the lesson was learnt: never judge a book by it's cover. It's also super moisturising because it contains Shea Butter. #winning. There's nothing worse than a lipstick that dries out your stunning lips. The packaging is just as adorable as the rest of the range. It will definitely be a staple in Spring/Summer make up bag. It comes in four shades - fuchsia, coral, purple and pink.

The range is available at selected Edgars stores in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Windhoek as of tomorrow, 9 September 2013.

Thanks again to the lovelies at L'Oreal! I am an instant fan.
